American Week Six Preview

No. 7 Louisville (4-0) visits Temple (0-4, 0-1 AAC) in the conference opener for the Cardinals. The Louisville defense leads the nation in points allowed, surrendering only 6.8 points per game. Temple has lost its lost two games by a combined three points to Fordham and Idaho.

UCF (3-1) travels to Memphis (1-2) for its first conference game since moving to the American Athletic Conference. The Knights hung tight with South Carolina, rallying from a 28-10 fourth quarter deficit, but could not complete the comeback, falling 28-25. Memphis was idle in week five after picking up its first win of the year against Arkansas State two weeks ago. The two teams have met every year since 2005 with UCF going 9-0 against the Tigers.

SMU (1-3) plays host to Rutgers (3-1) for the first time in school history. The Scarlet Knights are riding a three-game winning streak, including a 28-24 win over Arkansas in week four. SMU has lost back-to-back road games at Texas A&M and TCU after a win over Montana State.

South Florida (0-4) welcomes Cincinnati (3-1) to Tampa as the teams open up conference play. The Bearcats have responded well following a loss at Illinois, defeating Northwestern State and Miami (Ohio) before sitting idle this past weekend. Meanwhile, the Bulls are coming off a 49-21 setback at home versus Miami.
