ACC & Big 12 Weekend Preview: ACC Coastal Implications in North Carolina-Miami Matchup Headline Week 7 Slate

In the seventh week of the college football season, members of the Florida Citrus Sports Team Selection Committee are making visits throughout ACC and Big 12 country, meeting with fans across both conferences in advance of the Russell Athletic Bowl on December 28th.

NC State at #3 Clemson – 12:00 p.m. on ABC

NC State (4-1, 1-0 ACC) travels to Death Valley for a meeting with Clemson (6-0, 3-0 ACC). Both teams sit atop the ACC Atlantic Division with unbeaten records in conference play. The Wolfpack enter the matchup off a waterlogged 10-3 victory at home over Notre Dame. Clemson cruised to victory over Boston College on the road Friday night to remain undefeated, winning 56-10. The Tigers holds a 55-28-1 edge in the all-time series and have not lost to NC State in Memorial Stadium since 2011.

North Carolina (4-2, 2-1 ACC) at #16 Miami (4-1, 1-1 ACC) – 3:30 p.m. on ABC/ESPN2

The Hurricanes and Tar Heels square off in South Florida looking to bounce back after each suffered their first conference loss last weekend. The Tar Heels were stunned by Virginia Tech last weekend, 34-3. The loss ended their streak of 10 consecutive regular season victories in ACC play. The Hurricanes led Florida State by double-digits early in last week’s contest but the Seminoles clawed back, ultimately blocking a potential game-tying PAT to hand Miami the loss. The Hurricanes have a 9-8 advantage in the all-time series with North Carolina including a 6-4 split since joining the ACC in 2004. The Tar Heels won last season’s meeting, 59-21.
