Texas Beats Oklahoma, Clemson Rolls Georgia Tech

Texas 24, #10 Oklahoma 17
The Longhorns (2-4, 1-2 Big 12) rushed for a season-best 313 yards to hand the Sooners (4-1, 1-1 Big 12) their first loss of the season. D’Onta Foreman and Jerrod Heard rushed for 117 and 115 yards respectively as Texas jumped out to a 14-0 first quarter lead. The defense held Oklahoma to just 278 yards of total offense while sacking QB Baker Mayfield six times.  

#12 Florida State 29, Miami 24
Dalvin Cook racked up 269 yards of total offense as the Seminoles (5-0, 3-0 ACC) defeated the Hurricanes (3-2, 0-1 ACC) for the sixth straight time. Cook scored all three Florida State touchdowns, including a 72-yarder on his first carry, and a 23-yard score in the fourth quarter that provided the winning margin. Miami’s Brad Kaaya threw for 405 yards (29-49) and three touchdowns, rallying the Hurricanes back from a 17-3 deficit to take the lead in the fourth quarter before Cook’s go-ahead score.

#2 TCU 52, Kansas State 45
The Horned Frogs (6-0, 3-0 Big 12) rallied back from a 35-17 halftime deficit to defeat the Wildcats (3-2, 0-2 Big 12). QB Trevor Boykin threw for 301 yards (20-30) and two touchdowns, adding two rushing touchdowns and 124 yards. TCU regained the lead 45-42 with six minutes left, but Kansas State tied the with a 37-yard field goal by Jack Cantele in the final two minutes. Two plays from scrimmage later, Boykin connected with Josh Doctson for a game-winning 55-yard touchdown strike. Doctson finished up with eight catches for 155 yards and two touchdowns, while Aaron Greene added 121 yards on the ground and two touchdowns.

#21 Oklahoma State 33, West Virginia 26, OT
The Cowboys (6-0, 3-0 Big 12) withstood a second-half comeback by the Mountaineers (3-2, 0-2 Big 12) to remain unbeaten. West Virginia QB Skyler Howard threw for 188 yards (18-35) and capped the rally with a three-yard rush into the end zone to send the game into overtime. The Cowboys received the ball first and rushed six straight plays, scoring on a two-yard run by backup QB J.W. Walsh. The Mountaineers made it down to the four yard line on their overtime possession, but Howard’s fourth-and-goal pass fell incomplete.

#6 Clemson 43, Georgia Tech 24
The Tigers (5-0, 2-0 ACC) rolled up 537 yards of total offense, handing the Yellow Jackets (2-4, 0-3 ACC) their fourth straight loss. QB Deshaun Watson threw for 265 yards (21-30) and two touchdowns, while Wayne Gallman led the ground attack with 115 yards and two touchdowns. Gallman ran for a 66-yard touchdown on the third play from scrimmage of the game, giving the Tigers a lead they would never relinquish.
